Extreme pain following leg surgery?
Anytime you have surgery on a bone, pain management is difficult . That is because bones do not have nerve receptors. We feel the pain but it doesn't go to the brain. Even though your doctor did cut some muscles I am sure he had to stretch the muscles and pull them from the bone to cut the lump out. And you were in surgery, I am for a period of time. So all these things add to your pain. I am surprised but most surgeons see their patients about two weeks after surgery. Do you have stitches? As for the numbness in the lower leg that might take up to six months before that goes away. When you are sitting down your leg should be on two pillows just elevated above your heart. Try some ICE not heat every 20 minutes per hour as tolerated. You don't need to rush to the Emergency Room. Everything you are feeling is normal. Make sure you take your pain medication on a regular basis as it is part of your healing,
