How do i get out of staying with my dad?

Im going to my home town soon to go see my dad and some of my old family. I do want to see my dad nd spend time with him but staying at his house is a nightmare. My parents got divorced wen I was 8 (now 17l but hes always drunk nd he always brings up the past nd makes me look at old pictures, home videos, and tries to have long heart dron conversations. I don't wanna cry nd have an emotional trip I just want to spend time with my dad but leave the past were it is. I don't rlly think there's anyone else I can stay with help?
