Why do Conservatives assume you are a Democrat if you disagree with their ideologies?

Yeah I know, I'm Libertarian but because I believe in legalizing Gay Marriage, Weed and I am against the war in Iraq I am a Obama support, same with since I believe in a Flat tax! I hate its annoying.
