Walking Boot for Achilles tendon?

From your wording I'm sure I'm much older than you but I have been in an "e" boot for 12 months out of the last 23 months. I have done the R.I.C.E. thing and pt neither of which helped me either. I think the next step I will take is accupuncture. My doctor just keeps telling me it takes time, but never how much time. I really don't see any improvement to this point, I still have swelling and severe pain. It feels like I have a rock taped to the bottom of my heel and it also feels like the skin over the back of my heel has been peeled away and I'm putting a shoe over an open sore. I have had x-ray and MRI and the doctor tells me it is nothing more than Achilles Tendonitis. I really don't have an answer for you but I do understand the pain and the frustration. And I will tell you that the "e" boot has helped me to get around better, but it's tireing and can cause some of it's own issues, namely muscle cramps and if you don't have the same height on the other foot it will also cause back pain and your other foot will hurt because you are stepping down on it so hard from being off balance. I fell down on my knee 3 weeks after surgery?

I was at a restaurant and they were mopping the floors and my crutch hit the water and I slipped and landed on my back side and also twisted my bad knee and hit the side of it...it is swelled but it really doesn't hurt...it just kinda stings along the incision when I bend it (that's where I fell on it)...I didn't hear anything rip or pop...the swelling has gone down a little and I iced it and elevated it...I think I may of hit one of the screws in my knee because it was like a "jolt" of pain and then it stopped...it feels fine now...is there anything I can do too help it? Does it sound like I have hurt it badly and may need another surgery? I had a screw in my patella and they had to reconstruct a torn ligament and they did a lateral release so they did move around some of my ligaments...and I have set an appointment to see my orthopedist (my surgeon) to take a look at it... and also the way I hurt it before was from a dislocation and they did that surgery ^^^ to correct it...thanks :)

I was playing football with my friends at the park and fell in a hole and ended up with a grade 3 sprained ankle. They will have you in a splint for a week. You will have to use crutches. After a week in the splint, they will have you in a walking cast for 3 weeks. Then, you will use a simple brace or wrap for about a week. You total recovery time will be about 6 weeks. So, a month and a half. The last week will be needed for your ankle to rest. So, you will be taking about a month and a half from volleyball to recover. Hope I helped. :)

Growth Plate Fracture cast or splint?

I was hiking on wednesday and I tripped on a rock a hurt my ankle. I went to the hospital and they took x-rays and such. It wasn't broken per-se but the P.A. at the express clinic in the er said because of where it was tender, bruised and swollen that I may have a growth plate fracture. She refered me to an orthopedist. In the meanwhile i was given a posterior splint and crutches. I go to the orthopedist on monday afternoon. Do you think he will put me in a cast? or will I stay in a splint?

Stepped on surgery foot after OATS surgery? Very worried.?

Tomorrow will be my 2nd week after OATS surgery. As I was going on my crutches, I hit a little snag and could only catch myself by putting my surgery leg down. It didn't hurt, but it's sort of sore, although I think I'm being paranoid. It doesn't really hurt, didn't swell any, but I'm still worried sick. What are the possibilities the bone graft moved? Ive made three videos on WMM and each 1 will save correctly, but wen i try 2 publish it it wont do it properly. Injured Knee seems to not be healed?

Ok so i threw my knee out of joint almost 3 months ago now. Went to the hospital, got a brace did the crutch thing. Now I started to try to excercise again. Started out slow, walking on a treadmill, then went to a low impact elliptical with as little resistance as possible and worked my way up slowly. Well the other day I had worked myself up to 15 (i can do more but didn't want to push the knee). Anyway this was almost a full week ago and I'm still having issues. The knee feels like it wants to pop out of place everytime i walk with out wrapping it, it locks up, I have not been doing excersice with my legs so help the pain stop, i've been icing it, and trying to get down on the floor is almost impossible. I'm thinking i should probably see a doctor but I'm afraid I'm going to be told i need surgery or something. Does anyone have any suggestions to stabalize my knee so it stops hurting or something I can do to strengthen the joint?

I've gained muscle, but haven't gained any weight?

I've been doing a consistent workout routine everyday of push-ups, crutches, dumbbells, etc. for the past two months because I was pretty scrawny and wanted to gain some muscle. I've gained clear muscle in my arms, legs, and chest (others have noticed too), yet my weight is still around 130 (same as it was before I started working out). What gives?

When I was in high school, I grew up as the scrawny, shy outcast. Joined the army right out of high school and the infantry really helped kick the ***** out of me and matured a lot (physically and mentally). okay so about a year ago I got diagnosed with chondramalacia patellae syndrome and got reffered to physio. I did this for a few months and it started getting better so they discharged me. In the last few weeks my knee's started getting worse again and the physio doesn't seem to be helping anymore. It hurts to straighten or bend my knee completely and kneeling is impossible coz of the pain. I'm trying to stay off it as much as possible but some things i can't avoid like college. By the time i've got home from college my knee is swollen from walking on it. by the time i go to bed i can hardly walk on it. should i ask for crutches?

Hi everyone I broke my foot last week, wearing cast at the moment need to go back to the hospital in 7 days time to find out if I need the surgery to put the screws into my foot. How do i deal with this muscle spasm?

well it all started in track practice a little more than two months ago. on a stretch i pulled the muscle in front of both of my thighs. and it made me not be able to run for a whole month. i wasnt able to lift my legs. but after a while my life leg started to get back to normal. one day, two or three weeks ago i heard news that was urgent and caused me to run full speed. when i did this my right leg went to a whole other level of pain to the point i had to go to the emergency room in a wheel chair and left with crutches. my doctors just told me to take ibuprofen and lay off it which i have already been doing and it hasnt helped and it looks and feels like my front muscle has moved. till this day my leg is still messed up and i dont know what to do. it feels like my summer is messed up and my doctors arent tryin to help smh. any suggestions?

My doctor checked out my xrays and said it was a severe sprain but thought since I'm walking on it that it's improving. I rolled it on the 5th of June, today's the 16th. When i first injured it i was on crutches for about 3 weeks and was doing PT for 2 of these 3 weeks. My injury happened 2.5 months ago. It hurts when i point my foot and when i bring my foot towards me. One please don't say i'm acting like a baby cause the 1-10 thing is just currently sometimes it hurts a lot worse. Secondly going back on crutches isn't an option. And three the only 2 choices my mom is really letting me have is going to another doctor or keep doing PT which isn't helping. Broken pinky toe - worried?

I'm pretty sure I broke my pinky toe and maybe the toe next to it when I hit it on the baseboards the night before last. Why does society not like dark skin?

Ok so my skin is a dark brown and has a reddish hue...but it seems like all of my friends talk about it ALL OF THE TIME...my sibling even mention it. Guys say im sexy and attractive but it seems to always be an issue somehow...I want people to accept me for me. I have a great personality but it seems like the skin im in shields me. Carmel skin and "high yellow" skin seems so much prettier. How can i love me for me when the only black girls on television etc. are carmel and light. I don't see any darker shades (blue black?) on television and well...its not just im not popular. Im not wanted by society.
